Five Years Old

Year5

I may not post images here as often as I used to, but I’m in for the long haul. Not many photoblogs last a year, much less five.

I suspect the pace won’t increase much, either, as the majority of my new images will be posted on my studio page. I’ll keep this for my absolute favorites.

Waiting for Godot

Waiting for Godot

Waiting for Godot is a play by Samuel Beckett, in which two characters, Vladimir and Estragon, wait for someone named Godot. Godot’s absence, as well as numerous other aspects of the play, have led to many different interpretations since the play’s premiere. The play is often considered one of the most prominent works in the Theatre of the Absurd movement.

The play follows two days in the lives of a pair of men who divert themselves while they wait expectantly and unsuccessfully Godot to arrive. They claim him as an acquaintance but in fact hardly know him, admitting that they would not recognise him were they to see him. To occupy themselves, they eat, sleep, converse, argue, sing, play games, exercise, swap hats, and contemplate suicide — anything "to hold the terrible silence at bay".

On stage at Covington High School.
